Dust Jacket Curtains, 2024-Ongoing
Dust Jackets is an ongoing body of work responding to the history of the Ethnic and Gender Studies Collections (EGSC) at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) Library. The Dust Jacket Curtains transform the imagery from two-dimensional Dust Jacket Weavings into three-dimensional, functional curtains made from semi-transparent chiffon.
I am currently working on a site-specific installation of ten curtains, to be installed in the windows of the UCSB Ethnic and Gender Studies Collection in Fall 2025. This installation will be accompanied by a selection of Dust Jacket Weavings and Staff Bulletins, and displayed in conjunction with an exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Ethnic and Gender Studies Collection at the UCSB Library.
